Celebrate Qld Dinosaur Week at the Chinchilla Museum.
Chinchilla Fossil Finders is the all-ages community event inviting everyone to unleash their inner palaeontologist and join in Qld Museum’s exciting excavation efforts.
Help Qld Museum palaeontologists sort and sieve through local sediment to discover real fossils. There will be a hands-on kids activities, mini train rides, palaeontology talks and wildlife shows. Plus you can bring in your own rocks or fossils to be identified by experts.
Food and drinks will be available for sale, with all the proceeds supporting the Chinchilla Museum.
After a busy day of fossil hunting, come along from 5pm to a free movie night with food trucks at the Chinchilla Botanic Parkland (just next door to the Museum!) The evening will warm up with the ABC documentary Megafauna: What killed Australia’s Giants (PG) narrated by Hugh Jackman. Then at 6pm, the whole family can laugh along to the main feature, Night at the Museum (PG) starring Ben Stiller.
